China China China - the forbidden city

this is the heavenly gate - the entrance into the forbidden city.
Mao's picture is on the front of the gate to the palace.

as you can see, there was a little construction within the palace.
the palace is about 1 square km... and a 3 hour tour

standing under the love trees - you should know that we stood in line
to have our photo taken here.
and... a babies bum. it seems that they don't even make babies clothes without holes in the bottom. easier to have them squat on the roadside, than to have diapers.

we didn't have the clearest weather,
but to see the wall gone on for miles was breath taking

the city of shainghai is impressively modern. they are much more creative in their architecture then Korea, we were amazed at the skyscrapers everywhere.

there were many buddhist at the temple, reading scriptures and worshiping

the market - shopping and bartering


beijing is working hard advertising and gettting ready for 2008
this building you see is the silk market - where we spent a total of 14 hours
shopping shopping and shopping


dirty feet after a day of walking around the city
live scorpions squirming on sticks ready to be eaten
