this is the heavenly gate - the entrance into the forbidden city.
Mao's picture is on the front of the gate to the palace.
as you can see, there was a little construction within the palace.
the palace is about 1 square km... and a 3 hour tour

and... a babies bum. it seems that they don't even make babies clothes without holes in the bottom. easier to have them squat on the roadside, than to have diapers.
